Jaded: A Review

Sheldon has trust issues….that is the understatement of the century. Jaded introduces us to Corrigan, Bryce, and Sheldon. Like any good set of characters they have issues layered like onions. Like Tijans other series, Fallen Crest, Jaded is about a group of teens. These three are just as loyal as loyal as Sam, Mason and Logan, but Sheldon is no Sam. Sheldon does not take shit from anyone. She will put anyone, student, teacher, or parent in their place. She does not care and she isn’t going to be walked on.

Sheldon has been with Bryce since freshman year, except that she hasnt…. by that I mean that she wont commit to a relationship. Why so adamantly against relationahips you ask? Well that would be a fine book premise, and while Jaded is about that it is also about. Lot of other things. The plots in this book, much like the characters themselves, is layered, like an onion. If you want to read a book about the anti Sam this is your book. Sheldon is loyal to her friends but damaged by parents that are really bad at being parents. Add to this mix a killer on the loose, an oversexed movie star neighbor, Bryce’s somewhat crazy mother and a highschool setting and you get Jaded.

I enjoyed this book, but the progression is slow and it is not easy to keep up with the twists and turns. Sheldon is a real character with real flaws. She makes bad decisions and she is not very good at apologizing. She is 18years old and being forced to make a multitude of adult decisions, so it is hard to remember she is just a kid, but that would be the key here. She is young and this is the begining of her story. If you enjoyed Fallen Crest and can handle a much more mature story check out Jaded. It is definately worth a read.

*****Spoliers ahead*****

And now I am going to rant just a little. I read a lot of reviews that expound on the douchie ness of our three musketeers in this book and frankly, thats bullshit. Sheldon definitely speaks her mind, and goes her own way but that is called independent thinking and being genuine not being a bitch. Please dont just blanketedly say that the characters are snooty mean people because they dont care what others think of them. End rant.

What made me want to throw my kindle across the room?

When Sheldon sleeps with the freaking movie star next door, Denton. It is almost expected that she will screw up, but that really burned my biscuts.

Favorite moment?

My favorite moments in this book are the dialogue sections in the couselors office. She is trying so hard, and she eventually realizes she cant get to Sheldon without bringing in her family unit. Those three formed a family and they are hilarious together.

Least favorite moments?

Anything with Mena…chick be cray.

I give this book 4 out of 5 stars. You should definately check it out.

Have a great Friday and a wonderful weekend.

And just a reminder go like my facebook page! I am doing a giveaway when I reach 100 likes of this hoop art in the state of the winners choice! Thanks!
